Jacqueline Adair

Jacqueline Lewis Adair, 92, passed away June 13, 2014, in Stillwater. She was born in Canon City, CO, on September 18, 1921, and moved at a young age to Cleveland, OK. While attending Central Missouri University, she married Joseph Arthur Adair, and they moved to Stillwater in 1948. Joe passed away on December 23, 1994. For several years, she served as secretary for Lt. Gov. James E. Berry in his Stillwater office. She also served as office manager for Adair and Jenkins Independent Oil Producers in Stillwater. During her years in Stillwater, she was a very active volunteer in a number of organizations in Stillwater, including the Stillwater Medical Center Auxiliary, Delta Zeta Sorority alumnae, DAR, P.E.O., and Sheerrar Cultural Center. She also held leadership positions in a number of civic groups. In September 2002, Jacquie married Dr. Wilton T. Anderson. Jacquie and Wilton traveled extensively for a number of years, visiting friends on both coasts as well as to New York City to attend Broadway plays. Dr. Anderson precede her in death on November 12, 2012.
