Patrick Murphy, 72, was born on October 13, 1941, and passed away in Stillwater on September 22, 2014. He served for a lengthy time as director of the OSU Counseling Center, a position from which he retired in 1998. He also served as interim director for several other departments at OSU, including Financial Aid, Student Health Services, Career Services, and as Vice President for Student Services. Because of his work ethic, he was frequently selected to serve in officer positions in a number of professional organizations as well as local organizations. Among the local organizations he served are the following: Starting Point II, Friends of the Library, Elite Repeat, Stillwater Public Schools Board, and the OSU Emeriti Association for which he was serving as president at the time of his death. In addition, he served for many years as an official time keeper for NCAA basketball and football games at OSU. Pat is survived by his wife Kay as well as two children and two grandchildren.
