Joan Barrick

Joan Traver Barrick, 85, of Stillwater, was born on August 8, 1930, to Dr. and Mrs. Clarence Traver of Albany, New York. She attended Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. In 1949, she married Richard Barrick of Blackwell, OK. They had four children, all of whom graduated from Morrison, OK, High School and Oklahoma State University. Richard and Joan lived on a farm northeast of Stillwater where they had a commercial egg business in the 1960s. Joan taught the first Morrison Kindergarten and also taught the 4 th grade and science at the middle school in Stillwater for 20 years. She completed her Doctor of Education degree at OSU. Following her retirement, she taught English to Speakers of Other Languages at night school. Joan was a member of Sunnybrook Christian Church in Stillwater. She is survived by three children, Mike (Mary), Dan (Cindy), and Susan Seals (John) and by 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
