Mildred Rodriguez

September 5, 2017

Mildred Shepherd Rodriguez, 94, passed away on September 5, 2017. She was born in Sterling, OK, in 1923 to Pearl and Jack Shepherd. Mildred graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1943 and married Mario Rodriguez the same year. Their daughter, Jacqueline, was born in 1945. Mildred was a dietician and worked in many states including Louisiana, Connecticut, and California. In 1969, she received her Ph.D. in nutrition from the University of Arizona in Tucson. She later taught and did research at California State in Long Beach. Her parents and husband predeceased her. Mildred is survived by a granddaughter, Valerie Tesmer, and two great grandsons.
