Wendell Morton

Wendell J. Morton, 83, was born on March 3, 1935, in Shawnee, OK, to Richard and Garnet Morton. He passed away on August 14, 2018. Wendell spent his early years in Wewoka, OK. Following his high school graduation, he entered the Navy and served for four years on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. Following his discharge, he attended the OSU Institute of Technology where he studied Engineering Technology. He was employed by the USDA Soil Conservation Service for 31 years, retiring in 1990. Rebecca Burdette and Wendell were married in December, 1972. To this union, a daughter, Kerry, was born. Wendell was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca, his daughter, Kerry, his future son-in-law, William Schmidt, a sister, Charlie Morton Young, a brother and sister in law, Ralph and Dalphy Morton, several nieces and a great niece, and multiple cousins.
