James Seals

James M. Seals, 83, was born in Gilmer, TX, on November 2, 1935, to William and Nadine (Morris) Seals and passed away on July 28, 2019. James received his BS degree at Abilene Christian University, his MA degree at Southwest Texas State University, and his PhD at Texas A&M. He was a professor at Oklahoma State University from 1968-1998 where he taught applied behavioral studies in the School of Educational Studies. James was a two-time recipient of the College of Education Outstanding Faculty Award as well as the recipient of the OSU Outstanding Faculty Award for Extension and Public Service. In addition, James was a member of the American Psychological Association and the American Association of Marriage and Family Counselors. Jim was predeceased by his parents; his father-in-law Ben Neman; his brother, Bill; a grandson, Samuel Farrow; and his wife’s son Shane Rine. James is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; his daughter, Ann Farrow and her husband, Mark; his son, James, and his wife, Judy; Mary Jane’s daughter, Mychaelyn Stanart, and her wife, Tracey; Michael Rine and his wife, Heather, and his Godson, Tommy Tran. He is also survived by eight grandchildren as well by his sisters, Deanna Meredith and Betty Bell, and by numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving him are his first wife, Caryl, and her daughter Jessica and husband Scott, and their children.
