Betty Bayless

Betty Bayless, 84, was born on May 9, 1936, to Jacen Noel and Buelah Ramsey and passed away on December 6, 2020.  She and John Bayless were married on April 1, 1956, in Eureka, KS.  Betty attended and worked for Phillips University in Enid, OK, for several years.  The family then moved to Stillwater, OK, and she graduated from OSU in 1976.  It was in Stillwater where she and John began serving as Foster Parents to more than 200 foster children.  When they moved to Texas, they continued to serve as Foster Parents.  During her time in Stillwater, Betty worked as a special education teaching assistant at both Lincoln and Will Rogers Elementary schools as well as involved in Stillwater Parks and Recreation, Softball, Foster Parent Training, and Special Olympics.  She and John were Foster Parents of the Year for the State of Texas.  Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Barbara Maner, and her brother, Chris Ramsey.  She is survived by her husband, John and her children, Becky (Cindy), Jody, Johnny (Valerie), Jason (Melissa), and James as well as by 16 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
