Joe Owen

Joe D. Owen, 88, was born in Lubbock, TX, on November 8, 1926, and passed away on April 23, 2015. Joe and his wife, Glenell, were married for 58 years before she predeceased him. Joe served in the US Navy from 1944-45, after which time he graduated from Oklahoma State University. Most of his career was spent working for Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville and Denver. In 1985, Joe and his wife moved to Stillwater where Joe taught Electrical Engineering at OSU for several years. In 2006, the Owens moved to Spanish Cove in Yukon. Joe enjoyed golfing, woodworking, music, and traveling. Among Joe’s musical talents were singing and playing the baritone horn, and he shared these talents by singing and playing in a number of musical groups. He is survived by two daughters, Susan and Julia and their husbands.
