Edwin S. Darby, 84, was born on October 11, 1932, in Seminole County, Oklahoma, to Willis Foster and Bessie Deoria Kearns Darby. He passed away on September 25, 2017. Edwin graduated from Stillwater High School in 1950. He enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1949 and was activated during the Korean Conflict in 1951 and was discharged in 1953. In 1955, he received the Technical Certificate in Aeronautical Technology. He later returned to OSU to teach and subsequently completed the bachelor’s masters, and Ed.D. degrees in Technical and Occupational Education Administration. He and his wife, the former Ramona Carolyn Taylor, are the parents of two daughters, Charissa Lynn Phipps (Douglas) and Michele Diane Beard (Dennis). He was predeceased by his parents, a son, Chris Edwin Darby, a brother, and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, daughter-in-law, Susan Darby, six grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.
