David Robinson

David W. Robinson, 88, was born in Oak Park, IL, on January 4, 1929, to Albert and Marion Robinson. He passed away in Tulsa, OK, on July 10, 2017. While attending Oklahoma A&M, he met Merna Jo Hart, and they were married in 1953. To this union, three children were born: Scott, Julie, and Jay. After graduation from A&M, Dave served in the US Army in Korea. After his discharge, he attended graduate school at North Carolina State University. Dave worked as a research forester in Texas and Louisiana prior to his returning to OSU in 1962 to join the Department of Forestry. He subsequently earned a doctorate in education and later became a full professor. Over the years, Dave was extensively involved in the First United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School. He also enjoyed OSU sports. Dave is survived by his wife, Merna Jo; son Scott and his wife, Paula; daughter Julie and her husband, Walter Haster; son Jay and his wife, Cathy. Dave is also survived by his brother, Mark, his sister-in-law, Jonetta Hart Cates and her husband, Dale, as well as several nieces and nephews.
