The invitations are expected to be sent this week for the May 8 Dinner Meeting. We will meet with the OLLI group at Meditations. The menu is set and OLLI is arranging the entertainment. The April Dinner Meeting was a huge success with an attendance of about 107 members and quests. Clem received positive feedback on the surveys for the quality of the meal. Carol Headrick gave a wonderful book review on “The Life of Shirley Temple Black 1928-2014.”

Travel Update

Jack needs 30 days to arrange for travel if it requires use of a bus. Jack did not get a great amount of feedback on his Travel Survey from the April Dinner Meeting.

President-Elect

Sharon Nivens

Membership-Directory

Sharon Nivens

Due to a miscommunication the new Membership Directories with the Newsletter were mailed out 3rd class rather than 1st class so they may take 2 weeks to arrive. Some of us have received them this week. Membership: One new couple and one individual joined this past month. Sharon mentioned we are missing connecting with recent retirees due to the new Banner system. She does see a list of new retirees in the NewsPress from time to time.

President

Anne Matoy

Anne will try to get a list of Retirees from Whitehurst dating back Banner installation.

Anne mentioned the water leak in our meeting room has been repaired and the Lighting seems somewhat improved.

Communications – Update

Items in the next Update will include: upcoming Ponca City trip, recent Pawhuska trip, “Making the most of Retirement,” remind people to invite current retirees, and the June Dinner meeting “The Airport with Gary Johnson” Mojos will be the caterer.

Ambassadors (Commencement Update)

Since Russ was out of town Dennis reported several volunteers signed up to help out at Commencement. Most of them volunteered at the April Dinner Meeting!

University/Faculty Standing Committee Reports

Bob Wettemann; representing the “Retirement and Fringe Benefits Committee” gave a brief report on the Cigna Dental card. The first ones sent out had 80% coverage and the replacement cards had 100% coverage on them for basic yearly care.

Anne mentioned if we have any updates for the Ad Hoc Constitution/Bylaws/Policies & Procedures Committee to get them to Andrea Arquitt, Jack Dillwith, Clem Ward, or Sharon Nivens soon.

Adjournment

At 2:15 p.m. Anne asked for a motion to adjourn and Jack made the motion to adjourn.

Respectfully Submitted,
