Retiree Benefits Information 

The Emeriti Association continues to be proactive in following and suggesting OSU programs and services beneficial to retirees. Various ones currently available are described below. Some OSU departments or programs listed herein may have different rules for Emeriti Association members who are OSU retirees than those who are not.

 

Information regarding benefits is subject to change during the year. Please contact the appropriate department for more information and updates.

 

 


Computer Discounts

Educational discounts on Apple, Dell, Microsoft Surface, and MSI computers are available at the University Bookstore. A valid OSU ID must be shown at the time of purchase. Call the Bookstore at 405-744-5231 for details.


Auditing Courses

OSU retirees who retired under the OTRS Rule of 80 or Rule of 90 and anyone age 65 or older may audit OSU courses. Laboratory and studio art courses and private music lessons are not open for audit. The instructor’s permission is required. A Request to Audit a Course form is available online at registrar.okstate.edu. Call the Office of Registrar at 405-744-6876 for details.


Campus Parking Permits

OSU retirees who have 20 years of consecutive service and 20 consecutive years of obtaining an OSU parking permit are entitled to receive a retiree parking permit at no cost. A retiree with less than 20 years of consecutive service is eligible to purchase a staff parking permit at the current price. Parking permits must be picked up in person from OSU Parking and Transit Services located in the Multimodal Transportation Terminal. A parking permit is valid only for the personal use of the retiree to whom it is issued. Call 405-744-6525 for more information.


Edmon Low Library

Retired faculty and staff may check out books and other permissible materials and access software. An OSU ID or Emeriti membership card is required. Emeriti members may access digital library services through the internet at library.okstate.edu . Call the librarian at 405-744-9780 for additional information or help.


E-mail

OSU Retirees can keep their OSU email addresses. For questions regarding an O-Key account, contact the IT Help Desk at 405-744-4357.


Lake Carl Blackwell

There is no charge for day visitation to OSU Emeriti. A “day use” pass is required and obtained by showing one’s Emeriti membership card at the Lake Carl Blackwell (LCB) Headquarters (next to the store) or the Fee Collection Booth (when open) at the entrance. Vehicles not displaying a permit are subject to ticketing by OSU Police Department.


OSU Athletic Events

OSU retirees may purchase season tickets to athletic events at a reduced price. When purchasing in person at the Athletic Ticket Office, a retiree must present one’s OSU ID card. If ordering by mail, a photocopy of one’s OSU ID card must be included. Call the Athletic Ticket Office at 405-744-5745 for ordering information and other details.


OSU ID Cards

OSU ID cards will remain valid in retirement. Lost cards must be reported immediately to prevent unauthorized use. There is a $20 replacement fee. The ID Services office is located in 421 Classroom Building. Check it.okstate.edu or call 405-744-8434 for questions or additional information.


OSU Michael and Anne Greenwood School of Music

Tickets for music events are available at the current student rate to members of the Association and other senior citizens. Check the website music.okstate.edu or call 405-744-8997 for a list of upcoming musical events and purchasing tickets.


OSU Department of Theatre

Senior citizens age 65 or older are eligible to purchase tickets at a reduced rate. Attendees with disabilities may request seating in a designated row. Check the website theatre.okstate.edu or call 405-744-6094 for upcoming theatre events and purchasing tickets.


OSU Student Government Association Events

Most events sponsored by the OSU Student Government Association are free to OSU retirees with a valid OSU ID. This includes the OSU Speakers Board events. Admission restrictions and fee requirement likely will be listed in the advertisement for the event.


Parking in Student Union Garage

OSU Emeriti Association members are given a 50% discount on hourly parking in the SU garage. There is a minimum charge of one hour. A current Emeriti membership card must be shown to the parking attendant to receive the discount.


Seretean Wellness Center and Colvin Center Membership

OSU retirees are given an automatic free membership to the Department of Wellness and only need to show one’s OSU ID to be admitted. Other retired employees may purchase membership on a semester or annual basis at the community membership rates. Transit System

Passengers reaching age 59 may ride the local OSU buses one way for thirty-five cents. The BOB transit service is available to the public at the same rate as for current faculty and staff. The one-way fare is $13.00. Reservations are required for riding BOB. Check the website parking,okstate.edu or call 405-744-7100 for routes, making reservations or additional information on the local buses and BOB.


University Club (U-Club)
